Portuguese Fish Chowder

1 small codfish or Haddock, cut in chunks
1 onion, sliced
2 Tbsp. vinegar
4 potatoes
1/4 tsp. ground cumin seed
1/2 tsp. saffron
Salt & pepper


Place fish and onion in a kettle and cover with water. Add vinegar immediately. When fish is cooked, add remaining ingredients.
