Highbrow Haddock

1 lb. frozen Haddock or other fish Fillets
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 cup milk
1 cup Cheddar cheese
2 Tbsp. margarine
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 Tbsp. flour
1 cup sour cream
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms

Simmer fish in water (barely covered), 12-15 minutes. Break fish into large chunks. In large saucepan cook onions in margarine. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Add 1 cup milk; cook until thickened. Remove from heat. Add cheese, sour cream, fish and mushrooms. Place in 2 quart casserole and top with buttered bread crumbs. Bake 15-20 minutes in 400 degree oven.
