Cape Cod Fish Chowder

1 large onion, diced (1 cup)
4 Tbsp. margarine
3 large potatoes, diced (4 cups)
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. basil
2 cups water
1 (16 oz.) can whole corn
1 large can evaporated milk
1 package or 1 lb. Haddock

Saute onions in butter until soft, in kettle. Add potatoes, salt, pepper, basil and water. Cover and simmer 15 minutes; place fish on top of potatoes. Recover and simmer for 15 minutes, or until fish flakes easily. Stir in corn with liquid and evaporated milk. Cover and heat just until boiling.
