Red Snapper Paysanne

2 pounds red snapper steaks -- or other fish steaks
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1 can sliced mushrooms -- drained (4 oz.)
1/2 cup sliced green onions
1/4 cup catsup
2 tablespoons butter or margarine -- melted
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke

Thaw frozen steaks.

Cut into serving size portions.

Place in a greased baking dish, 12x8x2 inches.

Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Combine remaining ingredients and spread over top of fish.

Bake in a moderate oven, 350 degrees, for 25 to 30 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
