Crunchy Cornmeal Fried Squid

1 lb Squid; cleaned and sliced
1/2 c All-purpose flour
1/2 c Cornmeal
1/2 ts Freshly-ground black pepper
Oil; for deep frying


Heat 4 inches of neutral-flavored oil in large heavy pot to 360 degrees. In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal and pepper. Working in batches This recipe yields 4 appetizer servings.
